UK: Flood Alerts spark urgent requirements
29th June 2012
With transport, power supplies, schools, homes and business being disrupted for a second day by floods across parts of the UK crisis management has gone into effect across much of the Midlands, Northern England, Scotland an Northern Ireland
Both the Environment Agency and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency have current flood warnings in place while emergency services dealt with more than 1,500 calls in Tyne and Wear alone. Thousands of homes in NE England remain without power after substations flooded, rail networks have been disrupted with rail operator East Coast Trains urging customers not to travel unless absolutely necessary, although National Rail reports that First TransPennine Express and Virgin Trains were expected to run a normal service on the West Coast line, subject to minor delays.
All Lubetech distributors remain on high alert for spill control measures and Lubetech will be operating throughout the weekend to ensure urgent deliveries are made, although the majority of distributors in the affected areas should have sufficient stocks to handle local requirements.
Let's be careful out there.
