Oil spill alert on River Bourne in Hampshire

Work is continuing to clean up an oil spill on a Hampshire river.
The Environment Agency said inflatable booms and absorbent pads were being used to contain the pollution on the River Bourne, north of Andover.The agency was alerted at 03:00 BST and the spill has subsequently affected a 10km (six mile) stretch of river south of Hurstbourne Tarrant.
The river is renowned for salmon fishing. The cause of the spill is being investigated. Evidence of a "thin film" of oil was found at Bransbury, near Longparish.
