Lubetech announce DEBUT UK dates for `roadshow`

The Lubetech Skill Centre has announced first dates & venues for our all-new Roadshow, bringing training and awareness in spill control  to everyone in business in the UK...

`Coming to a town near you` the Lubetech Skill Centre 2-hour `Basic Skills for Spills` course offers an efficient and cost-effective venue-based training & foundation package in a local setting (at conference and meeting venues) across the UK.

Minimising the need to travel, reducing out-of-office time and catering to needs of smaller businesses, discover important reasons why your business needs to be compliant with envrionmental regulations, how they impact your business, and hands-on product demonstration of how to deal with a spill... Everyone from `White Van Man` to multi-sited industrial or commercial organisations must consider spill control as part of their daily operatoins. Approach with equal vigour to Fire Safety Precautions or Health & Safety compliance. You wouldn't operate your business without a fire extinguisher?

  • Lubetech recently surveyed 768 companies in various industry sectors. 76% had `no knowledge` or `only rudimentary understanding` of spill control.
  • A Freedom iof Information (FOI) request shockingly revealed 40% of Small or Medium Sized Enterprises (SME’s) suffering a `substantial` spill will fold within 18 months of the incident.
  • Environment Agency costs often exceed the clean-up charge by a factor of 8 to 1. Typical Liability insurance does not cover this. In April 2010 a UK water company was fined £15k for polluting a local river, however the true costs were: Tankering away the spilt chemical £32,600, Plugging the leak £8,300, fish surveys £26,000, Installing new equipment to detect a leak £60,000, Charge for EA officers attending £2,271*, restocking the stretch of river £63,500. Including fine and  prosecution costs the total incident cost £211,164 (source: Environment Times)

With such important risks in mind Lubetech has teamed with a number of experienced Training Partners right across England, Wales and Scotland to launch an important initiative to inform business and provide training in immediate spill response. With a simple delegate rate of just £150 + VAT and a 2-hour course structure to include a hands-on demonstration of correct compliance procedures, the course is a `must attend` for all businesses who use, carry, or handle fluids in the course of business, including fork lift or hydraulic equipment operators.
