Leading UK Water company fined for hydrocarbon spills

A major player in the water utilities industry, has this week been landed with fines for 'preventable' hydrocarbon based spills. A network of streams in Northern England and one in Scotland have been polluted, due to 'inadequate' spill response planning, resulting in fish and wildlife kills.
